For 25 days, I had the pleasure of visiting Uganda, Africa. I had gone with a good sister friend from church and her two teenaged children. Because my friend is from Uganda, I had the opportunity to stay with her family and experience her family’s way of celebrating Christmas. During the whole time that I was there, I felt very loved and welcomed. I went to parties, a couple of Christmas programs, as well as hung out and played with some children. I also went shopping at a variety of stores and visited various members of my friend’s large family. I even went to a beautiful cemetery of some of her relatives on her mother’s side of the family. We stayed a weekend at a Safari Lodge and went on both a Safari drive and a boat tour to see different animals in their natural habitat. I also had the opportunity of going a few times to the sister church in Kampala Uganda, meeting a few people, whom I believe God had put into my life for continual mutual encouragement despite the distance of our physical selves.
During my stay, God had many lessons for me. I am hoping to be able to share some of them with you over the course of the next few weeks. With the many lessons of being in a different country, I am still working on processing some of them so prayerfully, God will reveal how I can tell you about my experience there. For now, please visit my gallery to enjoy some of the pictures and videos from my trip.
